Canadian Beaver

Thought the title would get your attention... but as you know the focus here is on canadian content. And the Bemidji Beavers will be hosting the UMD Bulldogs this weekend. A quick scurrie of their roster reveals 10 canadian homebread boys plying their trade in the green and white of the beaver. Their attraction to canadian content seems to focus on the western portion of the great white north with half of the canadian contingent coming from British Columbia. ( Matt Allen, Cody Bostock, Matt Francis, Matt Pope (no relation to the big guy at the vatican) and Tyler Scofield. The Alberta Rockies tendered two orphans to the fold in the likes of Matt Climie and Rob Sirianni who owned goaltenders during his stay with the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The beavers round out the canuckleheads with 3 representing the Manitoba province with Blaine Jarvis, Joey Moggach and Riley Weslosky rounding out the fold.

This writer is hoping the kid dresses for these contests as there is some history their and I suspect the kid would be looking for redemption.

Is there an Italian Connection?

Holy moly, thats alot of Italian blood on one roster. I guess this poses the question, is this club close to Chicago and which mob boss is involved in the school down there. And I guess should I expect as many irish descendants in Notre Dame?
