Is there an Italian Connection?

Am I missing something. In my spare time I like to surf the net and low and behold I come across the Hockey East site. As I peruse the NorthEastern squad I was surprised by, well help me out here:

Holy moly, thats alot of Italian blood on one roster. I guess this poses the question, is this club close to Chicago and which mob boss is involved in the school down there. And I guess should I expect as many irish descendants in Notre Dame?
